Dr. Valente treats a lot of folks from the New York community that are hurt at work. According to the National Safety Council, the most common type of work injury is musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), which involves trauma to the muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments and joints. MSDs account for more than one third of all workplace accidents.
The most ordinary type of MSD is a strain, which is an injury to a muscle or tendon. Strains are caused by lifting, pushing or pulling too much weight, or by engaging in repetitive movements. Other typical MSDs include carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis and back issues.
These injuries can be avoided by using correct lifting techniques, taking frequent breaks and using ergonomic tools. Employers can also help put a stop to injuries by giving their employees educational sources on avoiding getting hurt on the job.
Back issues and injuries are a frequent problem that Dr. Valente sees in our #Ciyt# office and we also work with people who have shoulder or neck problems.
If you have had a work injury or accident and live in the New York community, give Dr. Valente a call and make an appointment today. We will work with you to create a treatment plan that will help you recover and do our best to get you back on the job as fast as we can!
